Will National Infrastructure Commission endure?

Date: 21/10/2016

Planning magazine reports that many commentators say that the National Infrastructure Commission has already, in its current non-statutory role, carved out a role for itself, having published a number of reports and started work on its first National Infrastructure Assessment, a 30-year strategy outlining the country's infrastructure needs and how they can be met.

"The commission has functioned to date and has had an impact," said the Planning Officers Society's infrastructure specialist Michael Wilks, speaking before last week's announcement. "The concern is over its permanence."
