Roads Revolution a Lost Opportunity for Comprehensive Nationwide Infrastructure Strategy, Says POS

Date: 11/11/2014

In response to questions from a Planning magazine reporter in relation to the Prime Minister's announcement about a Roads Revolution John Silvester, Communications Manager for POS, said "whilst we welcome this initiative what we really need is a comprehensive nation-wide infrastructure strategy (a national plan if you will) rather that the piecemeal approach to infrastructure we seem to be getting." Silvester added "What is it about a national plan for England that politicians find so hard to swallow?"

Cameron, in a speech to the CBI, set out how the government will unveil the first ever long-term Roads Investment Strategy for the government's long-term economic plan, and these proposals will see investment in over 100 projects on the Strategic Road Network by the end of the decade.
