Mike Kiely, President of POS, has announced further details of the spring conference and AGM; including a special event that challenges the RTPI.
Mike stated "As the outgoing POS President I have the pleasure of hosting this event in Croydon. It will be on 15/16 May. We have also organised a special event that I am sure the RTPI will be interested in."
"In POS we have been working on broadening our membership by encouraging those planners in the early stages of their career to be more active in the Society - we are very keen to move away from the grey, white male profile that currently dominates POS. This has resulted in POS Novus - a network of young, committed, public sector planners. I have described it as POS encouraging its own RIG. many will be aware of the Radical Institute Group that sought reform within the RTPI in the late 1970s."
Mike continued "At the Conference, on the Friday afternoon, we have got together several of the surviving members of RIG to meet the new "young bucks" in POS Novus."
