Malcolm Sharp to Bring Wealth of Practical Experience to the Lyons Commission, Says POS

Date: 18/12/2013

POS is pleased to announce that Malcolm Sharp, the Immediate Past President of the Society, is among the members of the Lyons Commission which intends to draw up a road map that will set out the changes to housing and planning policies and practice that are required to deliver the new homes and communities we need.

John Silvester, Spokesperson for the Society, said "It's good to have planning officer views represented, particularly as the Commission is looking for practical proposals."

The Labour Party has indicated that a Labour Government would increase the supply of new homes in England above 200,000 a year by the end of the next Parliament.

Silvester added, "it should be noted that Malcolm is not representing the Society but standing in his own right, bringing his wealth of practical experience."
