EIA Schemes Being Exempt from Deemed Discharge of Conditions Should Not Hinder London, says POS's Kiely

Date: 21/11/2014

Proosals for a "deemed discharge" on certain types of planning applications will not apply to those subject to an EIA.

However, MIke Kiely, Chair of the POS Board and Director of Planning at the London Borough of Croydon, told a Planning reporter that very large-scale schemes account for a "tiny proportion" of all applications. He commented, "Not many schemes are subject to an EIA and obviously qualifying European sites are site-specific. i do not think there are any in London, for example."
