Changes to London Mayor’s Power to Intervene in Housing Applications Will Extra Resources at GLA, Warns POS

Date: 27/2/2015

Boris Johnson and George Osborne announced the start of talks on whether the 150-home threshold for the capital's boroughs to refer applications to City Hall on the grounds of strategic significance.

However, Mike Kiely, Convenor of the POS London Region, agreed that the move could galvanise councillors to" get a move on" as suggested by the Mayors chief of staff. But he warned that, once a referral occurs, things can "drag on". He said "The last thing it does is speed up the process."
