Progress with brownfield land registers patchy

Date: 17/11/2017

Planning magazine reports that the survey into progress with brownfield land registers suggests that many authorities will miss the end-of-year deadline for getting them in place. The government has suggested that it could use sanctions to spur local authorities to prepare such registers.

Graham Jones, Infrastructure and s106 Specialist for the Planning Officers Society, said progress was "patchy". "Some authorities are taking them seriously and will produce them by the deadline, but many - probably the majority - won't," he said.
