The Transport Planning specialism addresses transport planning issues and the planning implications of transport measures

The Transport Planning specialism addresses transport planning issues and the planning implications of transport measures

The specialisms each have their own terms of reference and business plans (as appropriate) and work in a variety of different ways; for example acting as think tanks or setting up specific task groups.

The work of the TPTF is closely allied to that of the ATCO/CSS Integrated Transport Working Group.

Past Activity includes:

  • INFORMAL CONSULTATION ON ROADSIDE FACILITIES (PARTICULARLY MOTORWAY SERVICE AREAS) At the meeting of the POS Cabinet on 19th November 2010, Ian Askew of the Highways Agency sought advice on the above.  A response to IA was sent on 23rd December 2010, reflecting the views of the Cabinet and the Transport  Forum

  • .CREATING GROWTH, CUTTING CARBON The Government has recently published a transport White Paper "Creating Growth, Cutting Carbon" (see  http://www.dft.gov.uk/whatsnew). The Cabinet asked the Transport Forum to respond to the White Paper, if appropriate as a joint response with ADEPT
