Strategic planning (and those working as strategic planners) is facing unprecedented changes with the abolition of regional strategies, changes to the Planning Infrastructure Commission and new Local Enterprise Partnerships coming on the scene

Strategic planning (and those working as strategic planners) is facing unprecedented changes with the abolition of regional strategies, changes to the Planning Infrastructure Commission and new Local Enterprise Partnerships coming on the scene

The specialisms each have their own terms of reference and business plans (as appropriate) and work in a variety of different ways; for example acting as think tanks or setting up specific task groups.

The strategic planning specialism aims to help those working within the system navigate their way through these changes, develop the new skills and knowledge that will be needed, share experiences and good practice, and help POS influence and shape new thinking at a national and local level. It is also a forum for debate on issues affecting strategic planning and strategic planners.
