In its Business Plan for 2011-2015 DCLG details its policy timetable to "put communities in charge of planning". The department says it will give local people and communities "far more ability to determine the shape of the places in which they live by radically reforming the planning system."
It confirms that the Localism Bill will be published this month and this may be followed up by secondary legislation over 2010/11 "as necessary".
The document also reveals that the Community Infrastructure Levy will be reformed and continued.
