3. Minutes of meeting held on 7 January:
4. Matters arising:
Item 2: No sign of missing LGA papers. They may be more preoccupied with budget cuts. Item 22: The Group was reminded that Nicky Linihan was still looking for volunteers for her POS Housing Regeneration and Economic Development Topic Group - it would be a virtual group, so time would not taken up with travelling to meetings. Volunteers via Stuart or direct to Nicky at email@example.com. (ACTION: ALL). All other items covered on the agenda.
5. Regional Convenor for POS:
Stuart told the meeting that he was likely to be taking early retirement from about October, and this could mean a need to appoint a new Regional Convenor. He invited anyone interested (or who just wanted to know more about the role) to contact him. (ACTION: ALL).
6. POS President - Stephen Tapper
Stephen gave an account of some of his activities during his presidential year. One of his objectives has been to promote stronger links with other planning-related organisations, and the Localism Bill and other Government activity has certainly been helpful in promoting that. He is also finding the private sector increasingly keen to engage with POS. He is also keen to try and improve the age/ethnicity profile of the Society.
